The Forgotten Meal
Yesterday was our first yam, however we would like to say it won't be the last. Sarah and I had just came back from porter caves and the trailer park on campus. Nonetheless, we need some nutrients in our systems. We wanted to have baked yams with butter (how good does that sound?) so we just threw them in the oven for at least an hour. The minutes flew by as we passed the time with a couple of mario cart races (sarah won special cup...again). So you can imagine that by the time I went to check on the yams a second time we both were famished. But, even with the hour long cooking session that the yams spent in the oven, they were still hard. Case in point, we failed with our yams last night which is why I titled this post "the forgotten meal". Only time can heal the pain. Thanks for understanding our loss.

Our first breakfast delight
Hello again,
well I have realized that potato is actually spelled without an E, however this is my birthday month so I'm allowed stupid spelling mistakes like that. Anyways, that is but a minor detail to my post today. The internet here at princess palace (snooze-villa to others) is wretched so I wasnt able to write a review on my first batch of potatoes yesterday. But that doesn't mean that the potatoes weren't delicious. This first batch of potatoes had to be our first meal of september. So, Sarah and I diced up a nice big russet potato and added it to a hot pan with olive oil and garlic. After those began to cook for 10ish mins we started adding salt, pepper, paprika and red pepper flakes. Once the potatoes started becoming soft we threw in some cheddar cheese and viola! It was a great way to start a day and cure a hangover at the same time. Not too spicy, not too cheesy and not too bland. We have a long way to go but I think that that first meal was a great start to our starch adventure. Well, I can't wait till my spud intake tonight.

Preface
YoyoYO,
Finally! Septemeber is here! And you know what that means.....POTATOE MONTH! This blog has been inspired by everyones european travles because I know that potatoes are just as interesting as Sweden (lolz). Don't just think that this is a food-only blog. I shall discuss important issues such as the history of potatoes and the SCIENCE of potatoes as well. This month everyone will be well informed about all the properties that the potatoe (and its just-as-delicious cousin, the Yam) has the offer to our world. Wow from writing about all of these potatoes and yams, I've really worked up an appetite. I'm off to the kitchen to begin my month long adventure with this wonderful.....veggi-fruit?
